Hi friends!
How’s everyone doing? My mind can’t comprehend that Thanksgiving is next week or that we’re still getting 60 degree days in New York. As you probably noticed, I’m procrastinating on writing my usual monthly finds but here’s 5 recent purchases I’m loving that you should know about.
A. The Re/Done x Hanes Ribbed Tank Top ($80) is the holy grail of tanks. It has the perfect lived-in feel (ie. comfortable fabric, slight sheerness, and a snug fit). The weather has been so unpredictable lately that I find myself wearing it throughout the week in different ways: under a white button-down with jeans and a trench coat, or under a V-neck sweater with the straps peaking out when it’s colder. I know it’s pricey, and that you can get a similar-quality three-pack of Hanes tanks for $11, but I found the Re/Done tank on the Real Real for $40, so I treated myself.
B. This J.Crew Cashmere V-Neck Sweater ($158) has gotten a lot of wear since I bought it. Cashmere is inherently soft but the quality of this particular cashmere feels like butter against your skin. I love wearing it with the above ribbed tank or a basic white t-shirt and layered gold necklaces. I sized up for maximum coziness.
C. Apparently, this now sold out Mango Shearling Coat with Toggles ($170) went viral? I didn’t realize until I walked into work last week wearing it and was swarmed by my team with questions as to how I snagged it (back-in-stock alerts are my best friend). It’s a knock-off of every fashion girl’s dream Totême jacket this season and insanely good quality for being fast-fashion. I think the Mango in-store shopping experience is jarring to say the least but every now and again you stumble upon a gem online.
D. These dark, rigid Madewell Balloon Jeans in Mapleside Wash ($128) have been my go-to pair lately. I love wearing them with a belt and black suede boots. They are a 26.5-inch inseam so are perfect for more petite women like me. I know that barrel-shaped jeans tend to get a bad rap for being unflattering on the hips, but the curve on these aren’t as dramatic as others I’ve seen. The tapered ankle instantly elevates my outfits.
E. Thanks to TikTok, I’ve realized that I damaged my skin barrier attempting to combat a rosacea flare-up. I didn’t know what skin-barrier restoration or skin cycling was until about a week ago, but now I’m obsessed! I bought Skinfix Barrier+ Restoring Gel Cream ($48), and it calmed my red, irritated skin in just a few days. The airless pump dispenser also brought me unexpected, tactile joy.
